魅力 describes the quality that makes someone or something attractive and appealing. 魅力的 (miryokuteki) is a na-adjective meaning 'attractive/charming.' 魅力を感じる (miryoku wo kanjiru) means 'to feel attracted to.' It can describe people, places, products, or ideas. Unlike 美しさ (utsukushisa — beauty), 魅力 is broader and includes personality, uniqueness, and other non-physical qualities.
Common Mistakes
Learners sometimes confuse 魅力 with きれい (kirei — pretty/beautiful). 魅力 is about overall appeal and can include personality, atmosphere, and uniqueness — not just appearance. A person can have 魅力 even without conventional beauty. Also, 魅力的な (miryokuteki na) is the adjective form — don't say 魅力な; always use 魅力的な.
